IE7: Warned but Not Heeded

IE7 -- bad browserA while back someone warned me about IE7, but I guess I forgot and I installed it in order to do some testing with our website.  Many have blogged about what they dislike about IE7 so all I'll say is... I agree.  Here are my top annoyances:

  • menu/command bar/address bar inflexibility
  • alert box asking if I want IE to be able to access my clipboard
  • tabbed browsing (feels like a step backwards)
  • movement of page loading icon to status bar

If you're like me and especially dislike the inability move/hide the new "command bar" here is the link to the registry edit that will let you disable it. I was a staunch IE supporter but this upgrade really hurts my allegiance.

I too have recently installed IE7. Your comments are well taken, however, I use Firefox as my main browser. Only when completely necessary will I use IE. So, with that respect, it (the change ) doesn't bother me at all. God bless and have a nice day. P.S. I won't go near the registry anymore without the help of my son.
